History. I grew up the oldest son in a hard working blue-collar family in Turner, Maine. I graduated high school in 1994 and joined the United States Marine Corp. After being honorably discharged from the service, I started working as a nurses assistant to help pay for college. At the same time I began to volunteer on Democratic campaigns such as Baldacci for Congress and Brennan for Senate. After a short time of working as a nurses assitant, I realized that I wanted to be a registered nurse. In 2003, I graduated nursing school at the University of Southern Maine. Since graduating from USM's nursing program in 2003, I have worked as an outpatient and inpatient psychiatric nurse with children and adolescents and as an inpatient orthopedic rehabilitation nurse. Today, I continue to care for the seniors, the young, the wealthy and not so wealthy in our community.

Hobbies. I am an amateur web developer. I like to ride my 1973 BMW R75. I volunteer with social service organizations. I love coffee!

Family. I have a wonderful partner, Amanda. We will have our first child in late January 2009.

Why am I running for a seat in Maine's legislature?

I am running for the Maine State House of Representatives to be one of us in Augusta. I have a vast and strong history of experiences from growing up in Maine's rural environment to serving as a registered nurse in our Portland community. My history will prove to be a District 115 asset in the capitol. Portland is sorely needing representation that is outside of the two major parties, yet can take the good ideas of both and put them to work for the people.

I am running on a platform built from the ground up on the ideas that ALL are entitled to quality healthcare, ALL should have access to affordable and quality education, and taxing a people should be fair, balanced and just. Maine can get this important work done in an efficient and strong manner. I am the candidate to advocate for these essential and important ideas in Augusta.

Wow! This type of support OUT-OF-THE-GATE is amazing! The Hiltz 2008 Campaign Squad did the work to inform District 115 of Michael Hiltz's campaign and kickoff event this past Sunday. You responded. After Michael Hiltz spoke along side city counselor David Marshall and the event ended, we tallied the numbers. Impressive. Friends and Neighbors, Don't miss our campaign kickoff event June 29th, 2008 from 1:00pm to 8:00pm. the kickoff will be held at 91 Fessenden St, Portland. Portland City Counselor David Marshall will be speaking and Kris Eckhardt and Kris Day will be playing good ol' rock n' roll. Others plan to play the event as well!
